Default Accident

Hey Guys. This may have been on the Local News.

Leon and his son, David Authement, from Earth, were driving their good fast offshore racing boat near the Delcambre canal . They Owned D & L Salvage , and Mr. Leon was the previous owner of MARCON which is located between EARTH and Abbeville, LA. Something happened, they lost control and struck the bank.

Boat exploded on impact. Both Died.

My son is a Detective with the Verm. Sherriff's dept. called to let me know.

Facebook post says they were trying out a boat they just made and that it was the first time the boat had been in the water.

Yea it's crazy how fast things happen. I passed them on Hwy 14 when they were heading towards the dock to put the boat down. Prayers go out to the Ortemond family.

I heard they were estimated to be going around 130 mph when they hit the bank.

Just goes to show that NO MATTER, on Land Or Water Speed KILLS. A Mother, A Wife, Children, lost a Grandfather, A Son, A Father, Husband.

Not going to debate why some one would want to Overrate their boat. Over power their boat. These Deaths are needless. A Damn SHAME.

My new triton does 49 MPH with hammer down. I may tweak it to get better gas mileage Etc. But Not faster. No need for that.
