Default Shrimping and Crabbing around big lake

I'm still learning the Big Lake area.
I fish out of a small boat (15')
So I am limited to launching in the specific areas I plan to fish.
In the past my wife and I would launch at spicers or at the end of Duval road and fish the black lake area and those marshes for red fish and whatever else would bite.

Alot of trips (especially the ones where we didn't do so good) we would return home (lafayette) down hwy 82 so we could make a quick run to see if rockefeller or rollover had any shrimp or a few crabs for supper.

Is there any good weirs with access or a different technique to try cast netting for shrimp and trying to catch a dozen or two crabs while I'm in the big lake area?

I wouldn't mind picking up and trailering to a closer launch in the big lake area...It would just need to be in semi protected waters for my small boat.

running back down hwy 82 is just about as far out of the way as just planning a trip to rockefeller from lafayette.

Just asking so I would have a plan B that wouldn't involve another 45 minutes of driving added to the trip.

always places to crab this time of year.

My favorite is next to the most popular fish cleaning table. Those guys get fed everyday.
