Default Cavan Lake 12/21

Had a good morning with the hard south wind hunting with Ike84 and another friend. Ended with 18 around 9:00. Our last flock was 30ish blue wing, it's hard to just shoot 3 to finish the limit with all those birds in your face.

Man, we killed 2 redheads today. We almost never kill redheads and I've seen several people with em today.

Good hunt though!

We had a nice flock of 10-15 come right in while Ike was picking up ducks in the pond. We let them get too close and we only dropped the one you see in the pic.

I don't know about him, but i am. And we saw A LOT of birds today. Getting them to work an decoy was a different story though.

We had ducks flying over Broussard today, low enough to sky bust and right in the middle of all the houses and businesses. I hate myself for not having a place this year, I know there was some duck smacking going on today if we could have popped shots in the cane field subdivisions!

Rice fields around us. They didn't plant the cut that we were hunting. They had a good bit of birds flying, high and low. There was a few guys that left around 7:30 and we talked to another guy that only killed 1.. I guess we were in the flyways this morning.
