firecrackers
1 box of Saltine Crackers - (4 sleeves) <--wheat thins/ goldfish / whatever 1/2 to 3/4 cup of olive oil ( depends how much oil ya like ) 1 Tbsp Red Pepper Flakes 1 Tbsp Cayenne Pepper 1 Packet dry ranch Dressing mix 1 2.5 gallon ZipLoc Bag In the Ziploc bag add all of the ingredients except for the crackers. Close up the ZipLoc Bag and mix ingredients well by shaking the bag. Add all 4 sleeves of Saltine Crackers and close the bag. Turn the bag over several times to coat crackers with the chile and oil mixture. Let the bag rest for a couple of hours, turning the bag every 15 minutes or so. |

We call them Crack Crackers offshore. Can't stop eating them.
We don't use Olive Oil, we use Canola Oil. It works best when you put the oil and seasonings in a bottle, put the cap on it and shake/mix it up first. Then pour over the crackers in a gallon ice cream bucket. Cover the bucket and shake to get the spicey oil all over the crackers. In my opinion, Saltines taste best. But out here, we mix Saltines, Ritz, and Captains Waffers together in each batch. |
