I know all the jug stuff, etc.
Just aint got any bait right now. Next trip to academy i have to buy some more yo-yo's and twine for more limb lines (ones from last year are about dry rotted) Shoot from about this time, til august i'll murder the cats on rod-n-reel aswell, especially at the canal come night time |

Try bait shrimp soaked in vanilla extract. About 6 TBL spoons to a pound of shrimp. Let it soak overnight. That's what I use if I can't find shad or white perch rib pieces.
I prefer to use fresh shad. A friend claims garlic juice over shrimp or chicken gizzards and soaked over night. I haven't tried it, but he claims it works good. |

I take a pack of wieners and bottle of garlic powder in a bag and let them soak over night works good

We use to run trout lines in the amite river when i was a lot younger.
In the spring small "white" crawfish were the ticket. some times when we didn't have bait we simply cut up Ivory soap and put on the hooks ( my old grandpa taught me that one ) believe it or not we didn't catch as many numbers but the fish were always bigger on the soap. |

My ex brother in law used Ivory soap up on Toledo Bend back in the 80's. I thought it was crazy, until he caught a wheel barrow full of big cats.
