Default Who all can make plastics on SC?

Im looking for someone to make a custom bait for me that i think will be a killer for Big Lake monster trout as well as a smaller model for all around fishing ..... I guess the question is, who can make plastics and who do you use for your molds? I have only been a part of the design process in the past, not as much on the production end. Let me know if anyone has any thoughts

Is this a soft plastic or a hard plastic? Hobby or are you looking to sell them?

PM me and I can give you some names. My personal advice is to find someone that you can trust to look at your design and potentially partner with as molds are very expensive and you are looking at probably 2-3 prototype molds minimum and then an production mold. Then if you're looking to sell the baits there is a whole different spectrum of costs. Not trying to discourage but I have been down this road and have friends that make baits. Let me know more specifics and I can try to help.

No big deal i understand where you are coming from - i am not looking to make money off the deal, i just want something to fish with. I have designed a bait for a company in the past, but it was a bass bait. and that still an ongoing journey.

Guy that makes Skull Draggerz is a cool cat and probably could help you out. He makes freshwater baits and saltwater.

thanks for all the input guys - i actually came across a pic of something that kindof looks like what i want to make - check it out. basically looks like this but heavily impregnated with salt to have the sink of a senko - that in cold water will be an awesome bait! (Fished on a jig head)

That mold is available "off the shelf" from Caney Creek and the bait is fantastic - he sent me some samples a while back. Bear's Baits has salty grubs and the knock off sand eel if you are interested in those type molds as well. Most of the mold guys have worked with one another in the past but I would say caney has some of the best off the shelf molds.

Talk to some of the names mentioned here and you could get them shot how you want them.

Ya thats pretty close to what i am thinking - i think i want to kill the tail a bit so its a little more subtile for the bigger trout in cooler water temps. but ya, i can see that bait in a 4" killing some Flattie Azz

actually all of those baits look ridiculous awesome

Call Caney Creek and tell him what you have in mind, and if it's reasonable, it shouldn't be a problem for him to modify the mold. By far and away the cheapest route to go. Then get someone to shoot em and your set.
