Shad and cut mullet always have been my bait of choice.

I've set some out weekend before teal season before and did good. I would have all my jugs soakin before the sun comes up good. If u got them in the intracoastal I would have a weight at the bottom to hold them in place due to all of the barge traffic. I used chicken hearts for bait but shad and cut mullet would probably work great too. I'd bring the rod and reels and fish in Streeters and pipeline too. Caught a good bit in those places too

This time of year can be real good especially before a front. I mostly fish north of the mermentau bridge in lake arthur and the big schools of shad.have been out for a few weeks now. When they are there the catfish are usally thick.

I got about 15 foot of line with a weight on the bottom. I have 2 different stagins, one about 3 foot off bottom and one about 3 foot from the jug. Regular old jugs with a hook at the end will work, but with all the traffic they get pushed against the bank pretty quick

Head south from mouth of pipeline and it opens up to a little lake. Go a little ways and there is a bayou to the right that goes to lake misere. Not sure its official name but I have always called it bayou misere
