By boat or by truck?

When would you like to go?

use dead shrimp on the bank to the right of the 210 launch. You'll catch little black drum, croaker, ladyfish..I mean if you're just trying to put her on fish, its a good bet. I took my girlfriend there who had never been fishing and she's hooked after catching small black drum. She even called me the other day wanting to know how to tie a knot because she wanted to go fishing by herself. Just use a smaller hook. I usually get my shrimp from the place off lake street, north of 210. A pound of big ol' shrimp goes for 3 something.

Sunrise Catfish ponds are a real winner with kids. Those Meninites really know how to make ice cream too!!! Kids get to watch them clean their catch afterwards and you have some good eatin when you get home.

But don't leave home without a pocket full of cash. Burnt out bridge is a good spot and you aren't too far from that rest stop just east of the sabine river bridge that has a big ole pond you can fish in.

They are west of Hwy 171 as you head up toward DeRidder.

There is a sign "Sunrise Catfish ponds" a long the hwy. I don't remember where the turn is located.....some where north of Ragley [maybe north of Longville] a few miles???
