Default What is this thing?

This is connected to Positive post on the battery and the Trolling motor wire connects to it.

I broke it when trying to disconnect the wire. What is this and is it something that must be replaced?

Thanks for the info.

Advance is a whole lot closer to the house than going down to Academy.

Thought that middle red thing looked like a "Push" button. It has never tripped.

I agree!

Gerald, I might have an automatic 60amp breaker here at the house. Let me look in a few minutes. I'll let you know something soon.

Thanks for the advice.

I bought a 40 amp auto reset Circuit breaker today and went to the river to test it out.

I put the Trolling motor on 100 % and traveled 600+ yards [~ 10 minutes] and it did not trip.

I guess breaking the old Circuit breaker.....helped me correct the problem of the TM cutting out.

The wind was blowing 20+ mph from the south and the water was about a foot above normal. When I backed the boat into the water, I had to step out into ~ 1" of water on the flat concrete.

The river water is stained with 6+" visibility.

I never knew with a 24 V system you had to have a circuit breaker when joining up the two batteries for the trolling motor ? Is really help that much ?

Every circuit no matter how big or small needs to be protected by a fuse or circuit breaker

Thanks fellas I guess I should spend the little money and try not to fry my new troll motor I just bought. I have it hooked up directly to the batteries right now.
