No luck this morning
was checking the weather all morning the weather reports were saying calm around 445, i looked again at the CURRENT wind reading, it said 4-5 mph i open my door and am hit with 15 mph winds and find chocolate milk and some 2-3 foot seas. tried holly beach for about an hour then went to the ship channel woodduck commander hooked a nice gaftop but thats all we saw, there were about 20 people wading up and down the channel, and in 2 hours only 1 fish was caught it was about a 5 pounder oh well, cant wait for july for it to start heating up again

winds on Big Lake
One thing that I have learned from fishing this lake everyday is that you can ALWAYS add 5 mph to the predicted winds. I also never make a decision until that morning on where to head because of the winds. Same thing with tides. It's just a prediction. Most of the time, it's close. But, those charts never take in the effect of weather and other elements.

ohhh i forgot yall had that tourny,
should have stopped and saw yall, or at least called to check i was at my parents house and there was a very good north wind today, figures

Yak ! I plan on being on dunn at first light and work back to meaux's or until beach mud's up from the wind.
