I had the pleasure of fishing with Rusty Kaiser, his lovely wife Tammy, and a few of his buddies on Friday, June 25. The conditions were right; sunny skies, calm winds and a great group of eager
fishermen. We headed out to my favorite amberjack rig, and caught 6 that ranged from 35 to 50 pounds. Next we hit a few shrimp boats and landed 5 cobia and a blackfin tuna, unfortunately the blackfin didn't really turn on. Then we shallowed up approximately to 170 feet of water and red snapper bite was fast and furious. They ranged from 11 to 25 pounds. The biggest snapper of the day was caught by Tammy Kaiser, it weighed in at 25 pounds! We added two nice mangrove snapper to finish filling the box. All in all we ended up with about 650 pounds of fish and a great time was had by all!
