Default weekend slipping away

Well, had big plans for fri and sat. on the water. Was gonna head out to the bay in the morning, fish the day away into the night and sleep at a buddies camp, and get up and do it all over again. Well, everything started as planned, loaded up the boat, got the gear ready, made a run to the gas station and back to the house ready for an early departure. Then my son says" Dad, where's the back trailer tire?" I stare down in disbelief, the back trailer tire and all of its guts were gone, just a greasy spindle left. I then unhooked the boat, and retraced my path to find my tire in the middle of someones yard. It is now 11:30,just getting in from working on trying to get the spindle off of the axle for the past 3 hr. without any postive results. Looks like Ill be spending some quality fishing time playing grease monkey tomorrow. I was looking forward to calm winds tomorrow(something I havent had the last three trips) Its just gonna be one of those weekends.

that sucks...I had that problem once but i have a single axle trailer. Was gonna go fish Lake P launched at williams and went out to the lake and was met with 3-4 footers so put boat back on trailer and was gonna go to Lafitte. Well got about 1/4 of a mile down williams and i saw the wheel wobbling like crazy after 6hrs of working on it finally decided to get it towed to my buddies house in Destrahan...

Is the bearing race seized on the spindle?

I noticed on a boat the other day they had spare tire along with spare hub and everything mounted on the trailer. Think I'm gonna have to do that.

not sure what the bearing race is,but looks like just a lot of loos parts and bunches of grease on the spindle.

Default Happened to me as well

Went for a teal hunt this season and blew the back bearing on one side on the basin bridge. Well did not want to stop on there so went real, real slow till the exit, checked it out then went the back roads looking for a tractor store. Spent thirty minutes total buying and changing the bearings (they did not sell the entire hub) at a gas station...one of my best hunting stories today

well, to finish off the slippery weekend, I had gone to the trailer place got my new hub assembly, ran back home to install, and found I had a couple of parts missing. Ended up loading up the boat and limped back over to the trailer place, figured I might as well work on it over there in case I needed any more parts. Finally got it fixed, got to my buddies camp a lil after lunch. Pulled into the drive, and noticed the back wheel of my trailer on the opposite side of the repaired one was wobbly. Got out and checked it out and it too was about to come off of the spindle, bearings shot. What a day. pffffft. I called the trailer place and made a duplicate order of what I just picked up so my wife could swing by and pick this up on her way to the camp.( I must say if any of you guys need trailer parts, new trailers or anything of the sort, check out trailers of La. on hwy 90 in the berry. Wes is the guys name and he is on the opposite side of the exit going to the point. One of the nicest guys you will meet, very knowledgeable and will get you fixed up.) He sent me everything I needed to change out my SECOND hub, right down to some 90 wt gear oil, a lil grease for the bearings and seals ,and even a few rags to boot. Ended up taking me most of the afternoon getting my SECOND hub fixed, cuz a few of the parts had siezed on the spindle and needed some persuasion. Well, to end this eventful weekend, i didnt do much fishin from the boat ,but caught a few specks from the pier last night and did a lil boat riding with the honey today, so it turned out pretty good.
