Do you know
I would really like to have those mud guards to protect my truck, but the last thing i want is for my tires to rub. Any advice or ideas on how to fix this affordably? |

possibly a body lift of some height.... their relatively cheap and actually lift the body off the frame a few inches in order to prevent the tire rub as you spoke of.

you can crank your torsion bars a little bit.... put the three inch body lift on my ford myself for 300 for the kit

Hurricane offroad was selling leveling kits for 180

Torsion bar will raise the front a good bit, but you'll feel it in the ride.....it'll be much rougher

right. Automotive gear mentioned that, and my ride is already pretty stiff. I want to try not to lift my truck too much, because I like my mileage as it is and don't need it to decline any more

Perfect solution.......put stock sized tires on it....problem solved

Get you some torsion bar keys. They replace the stock keys and will let you get more height out of your torsion bars. I did this to my 07 Z-71 and changed my shocks to some longer ones and it rides fine.

I know next to nothing about this but that sounds pretty complicated.. How much do bigger shocks run? What kind of tools would I need to do that

I got an 04 gmc z71 with 285x75x16 with a 2" lift and they don't rub. Lift makes it look a lot better imo. |
