Default Made a trip

Made a labor day weekend (extended) to Missouri and Illinois with the girlfriend to visit and meet her family. First off, let me start by saying this place is absolutely beautiful.

We left work 9/2/11 at around 5:45pm. We switched all through the night to make it to Missouri at approx 4:45am 9/3/11. Got a few hours shut-eye and left for Pawnee Illinois at lunch time. Made it there in record time (3 and 1/2 hrs). Visited with family and had a great time. Left Pawnee on 9/5/11 en-route for Harrick, IL. Met some more of Jackie's family and they had a pond. THANK GOD, Finally, I get to do some fishing. Boy was I wrong. Hada cheap wal-mart frog tied on and walked down to the pond. Nothing but bull frogs. This ought to be fun trying to catch these suckers, I thought to myself. Man, these frogs were slamming my smaller imitation frog. I caught 3 in 45 minutes. Didnt keep any because I didnt have an ice chest. Talk about redneck ?? This guy right here had the whole family rolling over this.

We left Harrick, IL at around 2 pm and made it back to Missouri. Visited some more of Jackie's friends on Tuesday and left Wednesday AM at 3:30. Made it back safe and sound without any incident.

Pics are attached.

BTW, I know where I will be deer hunting and Elk hunting at from now on. Arkansas and Missouri are LOADED !!!!

Missouri is awesome. Spent many summers there as a kid with my grandpaw. Deer hunting is great, got some huge bucks killed there every year. Check out this pic,my dad's friend that lives there and some of his podnas on opening day.

There were deer "hits" for 900+ foot on the interstate. You can see point of impact and the blood trail for a good 300 yards or more. Jackie said, "The deer here arent what they are in LA. You hit one in LA, you need a replacement grille, a headlight and a radiator, you hit one here in MO, your needing a new vehicle".

I have to agree with her on that one. I seen a doe the night going up there that gave me buck fever, that thing looked 200+ lbs.
