![]() So my question is where would you recommend me trying. I don't mind putting in time or effort to get to a spot. I've hunted WMA's around Columbia so i'm fairly familiar with that type of set up and the fact that they are generally crowded, but hey the early bird gets the worm. I would be interested in any options within a hour and a half of Laffy. I appreciate you responses in advance! |

x2 but the tide there rises and falls hard. Had a few friends got stuck overnight last year on a flat till it came back up the next morning. I'd go with someone who has hunted it and knows it.

Thanks. I've heard about the wax and sherburne. Also about Lacassine and Sabine. Which would be nice because I go to Hathaway most weekends.

@DUCKSGOTOGETHER. I plan on trying it out. Can you give me any basic info on it? I've heard it's kinda dry right now, but I've also heard they've been killing alot of ducks.

At lacassine the main problem is the regulars that hunt there, if you hunt in somebodys spot they have no problem vandalizing your boat, I think there was some threads earlier about somebody took the motor off his boat and threw it in the water, but they do kill birds down there, aholes are the problem.

Yeah I actually went back and searched through the old threads last night and saw that. I feel like that is probably the radical end of the spectrum. Every place has a few douchebags. It would be hard to stay level headed if something like that happened. Do you know if you can drive a boat all the way in then wade or do you also need to take a pirogue? |

henderson/fordorche (sp) is the closest. like dink said, sherbune requires a lot of walkin and scouting. lacassine is a little further than the two but it prob holds more ducks.

Lacassine won't be a problem cause I have a place to stay close by. Sounds like Lacassine and the Wax are the best two places. Ill just have to find someone who has hunted there to show me around.

That would be your best bet.

Sabine would be a more "sure thing" as far as having a place to hunt. It has WAY more available places to hunt. |

lacassine for sure. gonna be hard and crowded but you'll kill your mallards most days. if we get some rain it'll allow people to be able to spread out more

I've been thinking about hunting sabine out of a kayak. Would it be possible to do some good out there like that, or would I need a boat. I've fished right around there but haven't been down during duck season.

You can also hunt south of the refuge on little lake misier.

You could probably get to some holes on the big lake side, but to get to the inner refuge marshes, you will need a boat
