I took the family down there last Sept. We stayed in a cabin which was very nice. The kids had a great time playing on the big splash pad which is not open year round so you may want to check on that before booking. Driving by the tent sites I told myself I would never go in a tent because the dust from the road was unbearable. If you are interested in fishing Intercoastal City is 6 miles away by boat.

Went there with our camper once we really enjoyed it. The first night it was in the 40s, skeeters were not bad. Second night it was warmer and dem skeeters tore us a new one, dey was bad bad! But in general the campsites are great lots of trees and pretty secluded. look at the camp map and try to get a site on the dead-end cul-de-sac, no traffic so no dust.
we brought our boat there is a launch into the vermillion. ran down to the intracoastal and 4-mile canal. caught 1 catfish.

We stayed there last year. Was told that they were getting ready to black top the roads. Not sure if this was done or not.
