Default Dish vs Directv

Trying to decide on one and dish seems like the better deal. Does anybody have any experience with them? Also does satellite tv still crap out in rain? I had directv a long time ago and everytime it would rain hard my signal would go out.

I have had both, I have Direct right now. In my opinion they are both close to the same, I think Dish has a better DVR program and that direct has slightly better clarity and channel options. Stay away from AT&T Uverse for TV if you are into really clear HD.

As far as rain is concerned we almost never have an issue and if we do it is a short term problem. It has rained here in houston for 24 hours and we never lost our signal.

Agree with ckinchen on that ... I currently have Dish, some weather fade during very severe weather, but usually not a problem, hate Direct, cannot stand their customer service...

I got direct tv.... If it rains or clouds or wind we lose service.
Technicians have come out 2 times in 12 months and "adjusted the dish"
No improvement. Customer service is crap. But when service works it's good. Great picture quality & loads of movies. I can order off my iPhone via txt so that cool.

I have Dish. Dish is cheaper than than DirecTV as long as you stick with basic programming. Adding DVRs etc., both will be about the same price. I only lose signal in a heavy rain. In a medium rain, I always have a signal. HD programming is a must.

I've had both and I thought dish was a bit better. It didn't seem to go out in the rain as much. I don't think there is a big difference between them.
