Amazing they grow that fast. What do you have in the pond for them to eat? Can't wait to see what you have in a few years.

all of the F1's that were in the bass tank at the LC boat show were 2 years old. Had some really nice size to them. you should be really happy in another year or 2

I just stocked mine yesterday. I put 25 F1 bass, 300 coppernose, 200 other kind of bream, 400 catfish and 10 pounds of minnows. I like to have passed out when he told me I owed him $500 for a bunch of bait fish. We better have a buch of fish frys is all I can say. I did this 2 years before Rita came through and ended up losing them all.

I got them from Dunns Fish Farm. I think it was the perch and catfish that ran the bill up. My bass were like 6 inches long and the catfish were 4-6 inches also.

I have a acre and half but it is full of points and stuff. The people at the farm recommended that ratio. They also didnt have to pay the bill is prolly Y they recommended it. |

I git some from Dunns also. I put 200 blue gill, 50 red ears, and 20 bass. My pond is about 1/4 acre. I stocked it about 18 months ago and the bream are almost big enough to eat. Bass are probably about 12 inches long.

I went with more of a catfish pond this time. The last time I stocked it I had a hard time catching the bass due to all the bream. I hope the catfish are easier for kids to catch!!

Does anybody else have that problem? |

I wanted just bluegill in mine but I had to get the bass to eat the offspring so they wouldn't over populate. I fished strictly for bass one time and only caught one. Other than that, my daughter caught one on a crappie nibble. The bream spawned once already and the bass ate all the babies, best I could tell.

When the bream are big enough to keep don't throw any of the small ones back & the same with bass. It's hard to do but needs to be done.

I won't ever put another catfish in my pond. My last place had a pond & was over run by catfish. Seemed you couldn't even thin them down! |
