To answer those questions by speckchaser, they are better than good eating and yes they are usually offshore but sometimes we find them in Big Lake. That is one hellauva trip!

Nice fish man. I have never caught one. They have been showing up at our rigs over here but gotta pick ur days to go out there. I lost a big one on monday but not that big. Hell of a fish. I have been wondering bout these fish. They are pretty smart i think because down here when we hook one almost instantly they run back into the rig. anyone know the patterns on these fish? They only show up down here in the late summer when the river drops. Where do they go after that? any good tips on catching them when they are not seen? I mean i know they hang around they legs of rigs and floating stuff etc. But there is gotta be a way to target them. These fish are somewhat new to me.

We weighed her in last night at Cajun Fast Mart it weighed 32lb.'s on water. And 30.8 at Cajun Fast mart. Getting it mounted now- It was on my chronarch with 12lb. berkley big game also. It took well over 30 minutes, to FINESSE her in the net, and yes every one on the boat was just a little nervous after we first saw her.
"I wish I had a liter kept going threw my head the whole time I fought it her to." |
