No hadn't had a tetanus shot in a while. Got drunk at bull**** bingo last night and decide to wrestle a friend when we got home. Stupid. I would really like to avoid stitches but I'm not sure this thing will heal without em.

stitches help approximate the wound edges an inner lining. it will take longer to heal without them. it needs to actually be cleaned thoroughly making sure there are no foreign bodies. you dont want grit and grime healing in that area. can make for a nasty painful infection. urgent care will help you out. you def need the tetanus and antibiotics. thats too deep not to recommend stitches.

To late for stitches, go to the drug store and get some sterri strips and you will be fine. Wash it our really good first with some peroxide or alchohol and then put some monkey blood and you will be fine.

honestly it all depends on the facility/dr.... some suture wounds within 24hr some within 12hr.... some 6hr... foreign bodies, environment exposure, location, depth etc play an important role in whether or not you will receive stitches. there are other ways to approximate the edges which one would be steri strips, kerlex roles, etc. . dr has to make the call whether or not there is a high infection risk. dont wanna sew up some nasty stuff thats been lingering in that wound for the past 12 hrs.
