Our deer lease is about 20 minutes from there. I have not fished it yet this year. That has to be the nicest state park in the state.

Big fish will be deep. Try big worms , maybe deep diving crankbait, football jigs.try to find some brush piles or ridges, fish points. May catch some shallow early on topwater. Prolly all be small. Maybe catch some schooling if ur lucky.

Can't help you there, I haven't bass fished there in a long time, but fish should be starting to school up in the lake and fishing at night should be better than the day in general. IF you are not dead set on Caney, I would try and steer you towards D'arbonne Lake. State Park has nice cabins and fishing is twice as good. White perch are in the stumpfields, bream are still easy to catch near the banks, and the catfishing is always good in the lake
