Last time I passed it was still gone, heard they are rebuilding the dock but not complete yet. Still hard to get in and out of boat unless you get wet.

Launched at Cameron Jetties a month ago with a 24 foot Skeeter bay boat. Not a problem. Still had a wharf with bulkheads on both sides of the launch so that when you are coming in to re-trailer your boat you can tie up to the wharf. The wharf is not big or fancy but workable.

Thumbs up jetty

Launch at Jetty is in good working condition, but is not set up like a wharf. There is only a narrow boardwalk on each side of the three vehicle wide launch. Everything from jon boats to 45 ft shrimp boats launch there. FYI- I always bring a rake or hoe when I launch there because at times the tide washes up lots of slippery seaweed onto the concrete ramp, which makes for a slippery experience without tire traction...thats when you gotta rake the material from under the tires to get a grip. No big deal, but might keep you there a while if ya don't have a tool. Good luck! jj

Used it last weekend, was OK, however really shallow being the tide was all the way out. Other than that everything was fine. This was the launch just before the cameron jetties. Good luck!

Not wanting to get into a pi@@ing match about my terminology about a wharf but here is an appropriate definition of a wharf:
A wharf or quay ( /ˈkiː/, US also /ˈkeɪ/ or /ˈkweɪ/)[1] is a structure on the shore of a harbor where ships may dock to load and unload cargo or passengers.[2] Such a structure includes one or more berths (mooring locations), and may also include piers, warehouses, or other facilities necessary for handling the ships.
You can call the "wharf" whatever you want but they do have a structure on both sides of the launch where you can indeed "load and unload cargo or passengers"

It was not the last few times I went down there. It is a long ride there and very disappointing to find it closed. I dont know if that launch will ever be reopened.

I used the launch on the west side a few weeks ago, just the ramp there no walkway or anything else there yet makes it a little difficult to launch if you are alone

Check with the "Crab Man" across the channel. He is next to the Monkey Island Ferry. I've bought live shrimp and cacohoes from him before but been a while.
