Yes. Another way for the cops to make some money. My buddy owns a windshield company that also does inspections. He told me about it. I have a sticker for all my trailers now.

Has been a law ever since I can remember. Just don't think it's enforced too often unless the need arises.

I remember my dad doing that when I was young, but I have never done it. I thought the law didn't exist anymore

I remember when check in port Vincent back in early 1990's.
Then like they relaxed on issuing tickets and I guess starting to check again.
I have always did mine due to I travel out of state with my boat.

Most of the time if you get stopped for whatever reason, mostly LSP will ask for the trailer inspection sticker.

Just drag your trailer with you when you get your tow vehicle inspected, easy to remember that way...

Seems like they were "cracking down" on trailer related citations a year or so ago...

Do want to add I was getting license plate for my new trailer.
My old 16 year old trailer license plate was cracked and rusted out.
Only cost me $18 to replace with permanent trailer tag.
It took me less than 5 minutes to pay taxes on new trailer and get plates for both trailers.

On trailer inspection they check for lights and make sure registration matches up.
Guy said now trailer looks like its falling apart they will fail it but that rare.
