Default Said good-bye to my big girl today

A rough day today as I said goodbye to my 11 yr old chocolate lab Daphne this morning, before they put her down. She has had back trouble for the past couple of years, and has been getting slower and slower lately getting up. Yesterday, she wouldnt get up at all,and and would barely lift her head. I knew it was serious when she wouldnt eat anything, cuz she never passes up a meal.Loaded her into the back of the truck and headed to the vet. She managed to get to a sitting position all the way to the vet for her last ride.
She ended up having ruptured discs in her back,so her back legs were pretty much gone. Although trying at times, specially her first 2 years, she was a wonderful dog. She hunted with me the first 6 years of her life, then just became a good all around family dog in her last years. I got her when my son kyle was 2 years old, so they pretty much grew up together. My wife and I had many a laughs watching them play together and teaching each other new tricks in the backyard. We made many of good memories together, and we sure are gonna miss her.Although my wife isnt fond of the idea of a new puppy, Im sure Ill be looking for another one before too long.

So sorry for your loss. Know how you feel and how empty it is without them. I just had to put my dog to sleep 2 weeks ago. She was always at my side. It's too quiet now. I miss her so much. They get in your lives and your heart in a special way.

Sorry for your loss.

I'm fighting with the decision now with my lab. She turned 14 in April and was health as a pup until a month ago. Found out today she has a growth the size of a grapefruit on her liver. Last night was one of the hardest nights of my life watching her moan in pain. Took her back to the vet this morning and he did an ultrasound which showed the tumor. He wants to wait to get the results from the biopsy before recommending putting her down but I hate seeing her like this.
