Default The Beach 08-04

Headed to Maes Beach Saturday afternoon after the sc tournament and scratched out my limit. Started fishing at 6 and it was every cast until about 7:30. All caught on limetruse norton sand eels with 1/8 ymb heads.

Nice mess of fish.

Can you give us a little more info? What did the water look like, wind, any bait in the area. Was there much seaweed?

Were you wading or in a boat?

The water was muddy but if u drive along the beach u can see large patches of water that looked a little better than the rest. I tried glow /chart, junebug/ chart, pank....nothin. Seems like the only thing they could see was limetruse. The wind was blowing out of the s-sw at about 10-15mph. Too trough for tw but light enough to get away with 1/8oz. We were wade fishig and the sea weed was not a problem at all. Didnt see much bait in the water. The tide was outgoing both morning and evening but we struggled sat and sun morning and ended up with 2 total. Had a decent trip fri afternoon and ended up with 16. The wind is forecasted to lay down this week so as long as u go in the afternoon and bring limetruse u will catch. Here's a pic from fri.

When you say drive along the beach do you mean "on the beach" or on the road adjacent to the beach? Where can I get lime/truse Nortons?

Did you have your sunglasses on when you drove down the beach?

Good job Eugene. I was at the lease all weekend getting your duck blinds ready. Flooding fields this morning.
