![]() Was wondering if anyone heard from The Committee or recieved their winnings or Door Prize. Our Team Captain has contacted them several times since the email was originally sent and he has recieved "Crickets" in response. Just curious Hi Everyone, ]We wanted to send an email out regarding the tournament this past weekend. We apologize for having to shorten the weigh in by 30 minutes and cancelling the awards on Saturday. Below are the reasons for making the decision that we did.[/SIZE] Based on the weather that had been coming through the area Friday and Saturday and looking at the forecast we had no idea how long this storm was going to last. We had to make a decision not only based on boats being able to weigh-in but also the safety of our team that was on location as well as our main food and beverage sponsors being able to properly get to location and set up. Once a decision is made to stop the weigh-in process several logistics have to be made in a timely manner. 1.Contacting team captains - this took over 40 minutes and we still had trouble reaching them all. 2.We spoke to the scale company to discuss the massive lightning strikes with the digital scale and this could have easily caused the scale to need to be recalibrated. 3.After speaking to several teams and event sponsors they had no intention of putting themselves or their customers in harm's way of going to the weigh-in. 4.Our team was stationed at the Holiday Inn in Lake Charles and trees were down, power lines were down, as well as flooding. This was not favorable for us as well as tournament participants to put them in harm's way. 5.So at that point we had to rig down and make sure all equipment and rental items were properly secured. 6.Most fisherman that had fish to weigh-in did so prior to the storm 7.Our food vendors could not make it out to the landing in time to be able to prepare the food. The roads were THAT bad. Congratulations to the winners: 1st Place $300 2nd Place $100 Speckled Trout: 1st - Bill Zartler 5.45lbs 2nd -Igal Askeroglu 4.71lbs Rat Red:[ 1st -John Tweekrem 6.30lbs ]2nd - Alan Berlin 5.55lbs Sheepshead: 1st - Garrett Repond 4.95lbs 2nd - York Patterson 4.20lb Bull Red: 1st - Hank Boudreaux 22.65lbs 2nd - Bryant Trahan 9.80lbs Flounder: 1st - Wayne Graff 2.70lbs 2nd - Nick Andrus 2.40lbs We will be making contact with all team captains regarding door prizes.
