I have fire ants that all of the poisons I have tried will not kill. Any ideas?

Father in law swears by dumping a 2 litre jug of club soda on em. I've never tried it though.

Hot pot of water, closer to boiling the better. I have sacrificed grass with crawfish/crab boil water to kill them, but just plain water works too. You have to pour enough to get through the system and flood all the tunnels.

Tal-Star granules. I can do my yard twice with a 50 lb sack and it last 6 months each application. Little less if it rains a lot.

bifenthrin, which is the active ingredient in talstar is some really good stuff. It not only kills fire ants, but many other insects too. I sell a good bit at my nursery. Another good one is called Extinguish. Its a lil more expensive but very effective. It is a bait that attracts them, the workers feed it to the queen, it has a growth regulator in it and eventually kills the queen in several days, then eventually the whole nest dies after the queen goes. A 1lb. jug will treat 1 acre. Usually only 2 applications per year, unless your having the rains we have been having. If you are in a hurry though, and need something quick, mix dish soap with water and that will kill just about anything that breathes through its abdomen. Its smothers them in seconds. Great on wasp nests, ants, spiders, earwigs, etc.

x2 on the Talstar. I sprayed my yard with the liquid and have no ants, mosquitoes, spiders, roaches or cinch bugs. Works really great!!

i had an old aunt that i used to help take care of that ha an old dog that she was scarred of using any kinds of poisons around....the only thing she ever used was raw unflavored grits....they take the grits to the queen and when they eat the grits the moisture builds up and their exoskeleton cannot expand so they kill over. Always worked for her.

For the pool owners try this. Take 1 cup of granulated chlorine 1 can of coke. Muraitic acidic works best. Make sure you are up wind. If this won't kill them nothing will.....lol.

If you have several mounds, scoop some from one mound and put on another. They will kill each other.

My neighbor can show you some scars and prove you otherwise.........all you need to do is pour gas on them, no need to light it.
