Default Katrina vs Isaac

So many people need to understand that they gotta stop comparin' land-fallin' storms to previous ones. It appears that is why so many of 'em got trapped in their homes and had to be rescued....because "we didn't flood durin' Katrina". There are so many differences between Katrina and Isaac and very few characteristic similarities. The tracks were totally different, forward speed, intensity, size...etc. Katrina was a decreasing system at landfall while Isaac was strengthening. Katrina blew on through while Isaac stalled several times.

I can fully understand the people that had to be rescued in places that have never flooded, but, Braithwaite??? C'mon! You gotta get outta there with any approaching system.

I'm done ranting.

I don't really compare which ones was worse, cause they all cause damage and alot of people have to go through a great deal of loss.

No two storms are ever the same.

Learn from one to be better prepared for two.

The most important History lesson I ever learned:

"Those who fail to remember History, are condemned to re-live it.

I agree. I think everybody can use this one as a lesson learned.

Call me what ever you want to and I know every situation is different but I can't say that I feel sorry for that lady that had to be rescued from braithwaite that was crying on the news about she had no where to go, cause there are shelters everywhere around here and they won't turn any one down! There was a manditory evacuation! I do feel very bad that she and everyone else there lost everything but they def. should not have to be rescued. I don't care if I had to put my family in the car and drive north, east, west or what ever and sleep in the car at a rest stop for a manditory evac. but we are getting out of dodge. Not only do you put yourself in danger but you are also putting the rescue crews in danger.

Everyone posseses a different mentality in this world.

Some wish to stay in their house and believe it won't happen, no matter what happened before.

It takes all kinds to make the world turn, even the rescuers.

So I Understand a person like her, and I am more like a person like you.

I agree that they should not put other lives in danger.

Also, Salty please don't EVER delete the quote about the thunderstorm.

if u live between a river and a lake or 20ft below and there is a hurricane coming straight at you, do you really need someone to tell you to leave? i feel sorry for the people who lost everything but you dont need to stay and watch it happen there is nothing anyone could do to stop it. by staying you put your life and the ones coming get you in danger.
