Thumbs up WMA leases renewed!!

Good news, Clear Creek, West Bay and Sabine leases will be renewed keeping them within the WMA system. Spread the word.

Even though I hate deer hunting. I'm glad this happened. Some people's only deer hunting opportunities are on these WMA's and they have as much right to enjoy the sport as anyone else in a different social class.

Yes, I am glad as well. Any public hunting lands lost in this state is bad! It's not just deer either. Hell you can go dove hunting on clear creek in the clear cuts and kill some doves. Skirls, rabbits, hogs, coon, coyote, turkey..............

Baseball hall of famer Roger Hornsby once said about his dislike for the game of golf, "when I hit a ball, I want someone else to go chase it." He loved the game of baseball, but he hated golf. They're both sports but with a different feel. I can duck, goose, dove, squirrel, and turkey hunt everyday for the rest of my life. But deer hunting is literally one of the most boring things I've ever done. I mean you're sitting in a tree, not moving, talkin, breathing, either freezing your azz off, or sweating like a slave. When it's bow season the only deer you see are in rifle range and by the time rifle season starts they're all nocturnal. I don't like deer hunting or golf, not because I suck at it. But because I think they're stupid. No offense if it's your favorite pastime, whatever blows your skirt up.

Lmao!!!! I agree with it being boring and the frustration part of it but I do it for my son and nephew. My nephew in particular loves the scouting part of it to see what he may be able to get a shot on later in the season. He is 12.

And that's great, anytime you can get a kid involved that makes it all worth it.

I would walk through a field of deer and move them out my way to get to my duck and goose blind. But that's just me. That's the type of hunting I love to do. But as many guys know kids change everything.

Public land = huntin. Shoppin at feeders, whatever state it's in = goat shootin. There is no huntin involved when you sit in a box and stare at a feeder waitin for a goat to show up. When huntin public land in Louisiana or hunting in states like Missouri that don't allow baiting, it's hunting and not just shooting. I understand most people just want to shoot a deer and not hunt one. Some of us actually like to hunt. I don't fault anyone that just wants to shoot em and eat em. Invite me to go shoot one and I will go. But I also enjoy "hunting" deer.

Good thing they renewed them leases. There would have been a bunch of rednecks and coonazzes knocking down the door to LDWF.

They should flood the whole thing and make a duck hunting refuge out of it.
