best kind of snake to have around, king snake! I was swimming in the tickfaw river once and had one pop up right next to me, freaked me out, but when I noticed it was a king I calmed down, it just swirmed away from me, they just like to be left alone like most snakes.

I don't know what kind of snake that is? My guess is some kind of water snake but maybe it is a young Speckled King snake. The "speckles" just don't look correct.

Here are pictures of a Speckled King snake I took 3 years ago while Turkey hunting. This was a big snake.....~ 5 foot long.
