Default Shark Bayou

Any one heard any reports out of shark bayou the last couple days. Want to take the yak out tomorrow but its a toss up between the point and prien. Any suggestions?

If you can hide in Prien from wind. Shark bayou always protected and then u may be able to launch at park. You'll catch something. They in there fish drains with bait flickr

Thanks. Thats what I was thinking too. Last time I fished Prien the wind made it tough in a kayak. I grew up fishing the point but never fishing inside the marsh around shark bayou and new to the kayak scene. I think I'll check it in the morning. Hopefully I'll have some good news to report back.

For vbay when in doubt chunk dead shrimp on bottom at every drain eddy and current line u see. Never to vbay without it

When I went out there wed, people were catching spec right outside shark bayou. A guy told me he was using artificial with glitter. Hope that help a little water was muddy everywhere from trash pile to the cove.

Had a good report on specks via yak in the cove during the week. We are going by boat in the morning.

This was my first trip in the yak since the time change and getting to the park at 7 well after day light wasnt my favorite. Felt like I was late. I mostly stayed along the marshline going to towards blue point. Ended up with one flounder but didn't get to stay long enough. Had to head back to Ville Platte for lunch time to get ready to start cooking for the LSU game. Lots of boats were in that same area and didn't see a whole lot of action. Next time I'll just bite the bullet and make the paddle to the cove.
