All this rain scatters birds. Ricefields that were dry, now have 6" of water and they're full of ducks. Rain re-shuffles the deck and I got dealt a bad hand.

Sheetwater is like crack for ducks, they can now get out of the marsh and go eat those vittles in the newly flooded fields

Word! Kinda like when the season closes and people see their fields and ponds full of ducks and they say "I wish the season would be longer". But really they're just comin outta the reserves and impoundments because there's no more pressure.

X10!! I chuckle every time I hear someone say "the ducks are just getting here". By the middle of Feb. they are thinking about going back north. I wish they would have youth hunts in the reserves 2 times per week to move the birds around.

It's not just that. You can't leave flooded timber flooded or you will kill the trees. Soon as duck season is over a lot of the clubs cut the water off their property. Well THEN the ducks show up in Fontenot's field and he thinks dey just getting here when the season is over. When in reality, "you are just reshuffling the deck."

No, its on HWY 15. The ditch on the right as you head south. It is loaded up year after year daylight til dark, they have no reason to leave. Not even sure that you could legally hunt them since they are so close to the road.
