Rigging a popping cork

When rigging a popping cork do you put the brass beads or the colored plastic beads pointing down towards the hook?

Yes they go down so they stand the cork up.

This is that companies version of making a "weighted popping cork". You may see others with egg weights instead of brass beads, I prefer the brass as it makes more noise

One time one of the guys on my boat was so hungover he tied his popping cork on upside down. I won't name him but he is friends with a good bit of people who fish the lake. Anyways, he was killing us 3 to 1 with the same bait and everything. I couldn't figure out what the difference was until I noticed his cork was upside down lol. It was making a louder pop and the bait was moving different. Just some food for thought....

all you need is a popping cork with the little plastic rod through the middle and a lead head down maybe 2 ft or a bb weight and a hook. i fish with some one you buys pre rigged corks and i always catch more than him.

Hmmmm. Who u been fishing with. And y need a popper? Strike indicator or can't stay off reef. Curious?

I prefer to use an appropriately weighted carolina rig (usually about 1/4 oz) with a 3 ft 30lb test mono leader. Then I use a non-weighted clip-on cork to attach just above the egg weight.

This way I can switch from top to bottom quickly. Also, I will clip on a weighted cork to cast more easily into the wind or to assist customers that cannot cast as well as others.

I'll use different colored corks to help people identify "their" rod.
