Default Kayaking west cove

I've been lurking on here for about a year and trying to learn as much as I could about big lake/saltwater fishing. I've only fished fresh water up until recently buying my yak. Inshore fishing is a whole new ball game for me. Needless to say, looks like reading SC has paid off. I made my first 2 trips paddling from the west cove launch 1st trip I hit the marsh to the south and ended up with a limit of reds by 9am. I fished glow/chart on a jig w/o a cork. Second trip I chased birds in the cove until the fish finally disappeared. I ended up with 7 keepers 14-16" and I released about 15 undersize, I also managed a 29" red... All on bone colored topwater.

It's 2010 wilderness systems ride 135. I picked it up second hand on a good deal. It's real sturdy for me, I'm 6'2" about 230. I can stand and cast with relative ease.

I don't know about feeling like a pro, kinda like catching a fish on the first cast but a little beginners luck never hurt anybody.
