Default dead pet rabbit

found the rabbit on the ground under the cage that is about 4-5 feet off the ground. hole in the wire part of the cage was about 1 foot around. the weird part is the rabbit's eyes were both hanging out and a little blood around the mouth, other that that, no other bite marks or wounds?? any idea what would kill the rabbit but just leave it there??
there are no dogs around and we live in a subdivision so no woods for about a mile??

What kind of marks are in the wire that was cut? Does it look like something chewed through or snipped? Got pictures?

I'd bet fox. We live in a neighborhood and several months ago I found all my chickens dead but they weren't eaten. Few months later same thing with my neighbor's chickens except this time we saw the foxes in the area. Just killing to kill. Didn't even eat em

That was my first thought however I don't think a snake can break through hardware cloth.

Yeah coon or possum. Young coons sometimes kill stuff just because. They like to grab em through the wire and just yank on em till they pull em through the cage. It's happened to one or two of mine back home.
