Default Weeks Bay

Made an afternoon trip to catch the tide. The bay was flat and beautiful but I got out there too early, around 1:30. Tide wasn't moving at but caught the first fish on the 5th cast so I though it was ok. Went two hours without catching another but had a few hits and misses. Moved around weeks bay to check it out while waiting out the tide. Water to the north was stainded but about 8" visibility. The south bank was beautiful gin clear and about 18" vis. But not a nibble on the south side. Once I notice the tide moving I went back to the original location and caught my limit plus 4-5 short fish. I forgot my fish net but had a little crab dip net in the back of the truck which I took for backup. Good thing all the fish were 16-18 inches. LOL. Fish were caught on Gulp mullet and a spinnerbait. Forgot to do a box shot.

Oh, one other thing. I've never seen or heard so many hogs in all my life as I did today on the banks of weeks bay. Every 75-100 yards there were hogs moving along the roseau cane. I could see the canes move and hear them grunting. I saw a couple of them and they were some big sons of guns too!

Perfect eaters....they def got some big hogs out there along with some decent deer. Would love to try to become a member to the shark island hunting club. My grandpaw and I had a spot by intracoastal but rita took care of that. Only bad thing is the skeeter tear yo azz up,even with insulated coveralls on.

can't beat a trip like that. The only bad thing about hunting there would be that i would have to have a stand by the water so i could fish while i hunt, lol

Yeah, it would be tough to sit in one of those box stands I see out there, and see all the birds diving on the trout! LOL
