Took kids to the camp today and dad and I snuck out for an afternoon trip. Good choice as our second spot was hot with the strong falling tide and pods of mullet.
Boxed around 20 on deadly Dudley bay choveys (closing night) double rigs. This was a time when two baits beat the pants off a single as far as bites in a side by side comparison. Caught two doubles, but the bites with the extra distance, flash, vibration, water movement, whatever was pretty stark.
Size was also up from recent trips. And the fish were absolutely hammering the baits this afternoon. Only bad part of the trip was the old man insisted on heading north at 6:50 w a 35 min ride home. So we left a lot of fish in the water, as they were really turning on. But such is the way with this particular old man.
But, regardless, good times!
