Default Big Lake Weir Gate Closing Schedule
Does anyone know how to find out when the Weir is open and closed? I hear it closes when waterfowl season opens.. It was closed about 2 weeks ago, and i'm not sure why. Any help greatly appreciated....

Will stay closed for a while salinity is too high...

There is a phone number you can call for the status of the gate. I don't have it but maybe someone will post it for you.

The # is 1-855-532-9955 to get the recording.

The gate is closed because the salinity in the lake is high and the salinity in the marsh is up to there max. target level.

They are trying to control the salinity in the marsh so that it does not get high enough to start killing off the marsh grass.
