![]() Throw any crazy ideas of things we can develop to solve our coastal problems here. Thanks. I realize coastal projects are extremely expensive, but I still feel you can contribute on small levels |

Man, there is so many different routes you can go. If you want a good shot at winning this competition, come up with something that hasn't been done before. Dredge and fill, terracing, freshwater introduction, diversions, vegetative plantings, its all been done. Great ideas, but definitely not original.
Go original, do some research and figure out something truely amazing. Something revolutionary. But if you want to go with tried a true, those that I listed fit the bill. Shoot me a PM if you wanna talk more. Just finished a master's on wetland restoration, worked in a restoration program for 2.5 years, and am currently an eenvironmental scientist specializing in wetlands. Break the Freon line on your old deep freeze or refrig. unit and, throw it in the marsh? May create a barrier...
Well, that's not too original either since I seem to see them all over the place when I do actually get to fish! |

I look at how they collect Christmas trees to help stop the erosion and have always wondered if composting garbage could work too. I don't know anything about the subject, but just something I always wondered.

southLa...I really have no ideas, but would like to compliment you on your thinking processes, "go get-um attitude" and actually trying to do something that is good.
There is an old business theme that suggest one "should try to think outside of the box", and I agree in part to that statement. However, sometimes just using the ideas in the box in a different way also produces great results. I have traveled to Denmark on several ocassions and wow, do that have some great protection systems, but really no restoration processes. Sorry I was not much help. |
