Google it you will find several forums with plenty of info on this. I did it on a 06 for about 10$ dealer said I needed a 12k fuel pump.

Are you referring to the metal canister filter just above the VST tank?

I was thinking he was talking about the filters behind the fuel hose on the back side of the high pressure pump. I got the out with a wood screw and needle nose.

I've changed those before too. Wood screws work great for getting those tiny filters out. There's 4 on the HPDI pump.

I thought he might have been talking about the canister filter since he only mentioned pliers. A small flathead screwdriver will work better at taking the canister off.

Along with the 4 in the HP pump, there's one on each of your fuel injectors. Same technique gets those out. It's worth changing them all while you have everything torn down.

Yep if you are changing it will only take a few minutes to change the others.
Best thing to do is search yahamaha mystery filter.

well, with the help of a good friend, we went thru the entire fuel system. changed all filters and replaced or cleaned all screens(one was missing in the high pressure pump, from a past mechanic) and i took the boat out yesterday and it ran great. very smooth thru the entire power band. glad i had a experienced hand with me because the fuel rails were extremely hard to get off and i'm not too sure i'd of had the huevos to pry on em that hard. high pressure pump was a little more tricky than the internet led me to believe, but over all not that difficult of a job. thanks to everyone for the info and help.
