Got out in ten marsh this morning around 10:30. Water was still rolling out, making the shotcuts through the marsh a little dicey. Depth finder and water temp looked good, but color was a little off and right away I could tell it was gonna be a grind. First few drifts gave up three keeper reds and a lot of "tickling" the jigs off the fish's backs.
Went way back in the marsh to some ditches, but no luck except for a rat. Back to the deep water and the trout picked up a bit, with plenty more rat reds and a fouled hooked puppy drum. Trout were much bigger than they have been this winter, but pretty scarce. Ended with 5 hard-earned trout and the three keeper reds (self imposed). Beautiful day, a little breezy.
