Default St. Margaret Catholic School

If anyone in the Lake Charles area is considering sending your children to a private school in Lake Charles I urge you to strongly consider St. Margaret Catholic School. We have small class sizes (~16 students per class), a strong junior high athletic program, several school clubs, fantastic teachers/faculty/staff/admnistration, outstanding academic programs, numerous enrichment programs, a supportive church parish and unparalleled parental support. We have 2 open houses next week. Please contact me for more information. Thanks you!

I went there for one year (they started making you pay tuition up front, and my mom couldn't afford it), and I loved it. Made a lot of good friends that I still have to this day. Funny thing is, we didn't see each other again until College, but we all still remembered each other.

Definitely a good school, and for the most part, the right kind of kids and people to have your kids around.

Our tuition is now monthly. When they went to paying tuition upfront there was an option to finance it through a bank at a low APR. My 20 yo son went to SMCS from pre-K through 8th grade then went to St. Louis where he graduated with a 3.44 and was 66th in his class! Now he is at McNeese majoring in Mechanical Engineering and as a Junior he has a 3.46 GPA. He has had 2 semesters with 4.0 and most recently a 3.54. He garnered a highly sought after summer internship/Co-Op at Citgo last summer and just recently landed another summer Co-Op for this summer. Early education can definitely make a difference in a child's middle school, high school and college years. It is the foundation that is set for the future. The cost was certainly a good investment in my son. My 6 yo daughter is in 1st grade there and was the only one in her class to achieve Banner Roll both report cards so far this year. My 3 yo will be going in August to Pre-K as well. It is one of Lake Charles' "Best Kept Secrets".

None of the local private schools have a junior high baseball program. All kids play in either the city league or on travel teams. The sports they offer are football/basketball/track for boys and volleyball/basketball/track for girls along with cheer/pep squad.
