I only use Penn, good luck with your decision. I like the Pen SSV3500 and SSV4500 for inshore fishining.

What are the better spinner reels? An h20 bait caster cast almost as good as a curado or lews. Do the high dollar spinner cast that much better?

Ggggg is nothing. '**' on many message boards in the title means there is no message beyond the title. Some boards won't post a message with only a title and no text. Hence the Gggg - just a random key tapping.

I personally look at casting as a lower consideration when purchasing. They are all going to throw pretty well, the cost difference is justified in length of life, drag performance, and overall sturdiness when a fish is is on. I have had cheap reels that sling well, but aggravated the crap out of me once a fish was on. If I purchase something that I use often, I want it to remain that way for years to come without having to swap it at academy every season... Last edited by Goooh; 06-08-2014 at 04:50 PM. |

the NEW PENN conflict, or any okuma spinning reel. I prefer the penn conflict 2500 over the SSV 3500, it weighs in at 3 oz lighter and has 7+1 ball bearings compared to the SSV 5+1 Bearings... Plus it's the same price =)

Penn battle series is a good reel too. I throw that and a Stratic. Seem like I always reach for the Stratic first tho.

2-3 years and all Spinning reels nut up. Where as a bait casting reel will last forever. With that said, I use Spinning reels 90% of the time. They're not as rugged as bait casting reels, but when they're functioning properly, they are a true joy.
