Default Cypremort Point - Is it on?

Fellas, looking to see if the fish have made it all the way to the point. Not looking for a scouting update on your honey holes, but the boats seem to be piling into the trash pile, dry reef, the cove, the hammock, and all of the other community holes around the point. Looking for an update on whether the catching is good. Taking my young nephews out this weekend, and my usual run out to the pass may be a little too long for them. Thanks.

You don't have to run out to the pass to catch trout. A coupla gallons of gas is all you need if weather permits (little wind and you want it from any east direction). Don't mess with the birds...white trout and cats under them.

I pulled in 11 specs yesterday all in the cove. 4 under the birds. 4 after the birds left and the fish kept schooling. 3 drifting the rocks then my trolling motor battery decided it had had enough. Of course I'm leaving out the numerous dink specs and sandies.

Appreciate that response. I'd always like to find some nice fish to bring home for dinner. The nephews are small and would like to find a bunch of small fish that they can reel in. If we need to, we'll run across to the pass, but I don't want to wear them out before we've even found the fish. Course I'll eat the sandies all day long if they're the 10 inch plus variety. We should probably work the point and see how it goes.

My 5 year old boy pulled in a keeper speck Friday drifting the rocks. Just tied him on a sand eel and told him to cast out and reel in. Probably a bigger celebration for a 13 in fish than I ever made for a trophy.

Was out there this afternoon. Launched about 3 p.m. and while there were plenty trucks/trailers at the landing, only saw 5 boats in the Cove. We headed to West Cote Blanche and tried for reds then to the island for an hour or so. Only caught one large sheepshead and one nice croaker and plenty of gray trout. Called it a day about 5:30. Just an easy day of commiserating with my buds and solving the problems of the world. I'm guessing most everyone was somewhere around WB or the TP, but I don't know that for sure.

We were there and did well. It helped we came around a bend and saw a slick at the perfect time though. 5min earlier or later we woulda never noticed it.
