![]() I've got an idea of how to do it with tractor (see attached drawing), but would like some other ideas. Seen how not to do it on plenty of Youtube videos, so I just want to make sure this idea is not ridiculous. Any input appreciated. |

depends on the base material. we did this with a stand that is 5'x8' and the 2x8"s that the frame was built of on the pivot side snapped in half lengthways. and all we were raising was the platform. we didnt even have walls on it. I wish I had a more optimistic outlook. but it took us several hours with a tractor and 4 men. It was tough. but we did get it up there

just be sure to have it tied off to something so it cant keep going once it rolls over onto its legs.
nice looking box by the way, are you leaving it like that? shouldn't it be painted to blend in? |

to me it looks like its just plywood? i don't see any 2x4 framing. shouldnt be that heavy . the drawing you included should work but i put a strecher on the legs from one side to the other

Like said before, depends on base material. I'd also have something holding backup for when it breaks over. I've stood them up similar to this before. I made sure my straps / Cables were long enough so that everything was clear in JIC.

I use a rope system that we use in rope rescue and attach it to my tractor. It's called the radium release hitch. I use it as a non functioning 3:1 mechanical advantage/ lowering system. It is really easy to tie and makes lowering if you have to a breeze. I lowered my stand with one hand literally. To raise it you just tie it short and anchor to a tractor an you have 3 ropes pulling for you. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1427582182.483625.jpg
The Munter hitch gives you your friction to control the decent. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1427582215.012875.jpg Here are a few pics from last summer. Thanks for info.
It's a steel frame, squared tubing. Wood is just the walls. It is painted now, just used that as a good picture of the stand itself. |

I did one almost exactly like that this year. Turned out to be a great stand. We have had it nearly 15years but I re did it this summer and relocated it. It went up fine with the tractor. It is 16 to the floor I believe. |

We just use the winch on a 4 wheeler but we build ours with the 4x4 legs all the way through the blind.
We had one come apart on us that did not have the 4x4 go all the way through. |

It doesn't help you this time but I build my box stands in 6 pieces. Secure the base to the legs, stand it up and level it,put up the walls and set the roof on top.

I had the following stand on the trailer, attached the legs with support. Had two guys left from trailer and one pull with 4wheeler.....stand lifted with no issues....just take your time and have a control line attached..
