Default Putting in the Work 4/3/15

Tough days always humble you but when you know you're having one, putting in the extra work can salvage a day. After the slaughter on Thursday, we headed back to the honey hole to find the exact same conditions, hoping the bite would be identical. Everything looked picture perfect. Just after daylight we started getting a few bites but they were extremely light. I kept telling the guys that the fish were going to explode any minute. We kept waiting and waiting until finally it was time to switch gears and go on the hunt. We packed up and thought we were going redfishing but right around the corner we found some promising signs. This time of year DO NOT pass up liar birds. Usually you'll think you're wasting your time but give it a shot and it might just pay off. We saw them doing their usual dip and dance and eased in. Game on. Speckled trout were coming in the boat. This was the best action we saw all day and it appears that we were one of the lucky few. We ended up catching just about every cast until the bite fizzled out and there were 22 trout cooling in the big Kysek cooler. We just so happened to be next to a point so I decided to throw some shrimp under a cork. Low and behold a big red took it down. 3 more of those hit the box. After that we moved across the map a ways and we searching for more reds armed with gold spoons. The 20 mph winds said that was impossible but we sight casted two more anyway.
