It has been a long time since my last fishing trim. I made a trip to West Cove Wed afternoon.
Winds were less than 5 mph and almost calm some of the time. Water was 86 F, stained and up to 6" visibility. Tide was still to maybe very slightly dropping.
First stop...nothing. Then I moved to another area and there was a boat working up near the bank so I hung back a couple hundred yards and made a drift [trolled some].
First Speck was about 11", then a little later I caught a 13" speck. Next was 19", then a 21" & 22"...... they kept getting bigger. 23.5" was the biggest of the eight that I caught along with a 17" "tagged" Redfish.
The tag has a phone number, but I have not called it in yet.
The fish were caught on "initation" DOA's [morning glory w/ char tail], live shrimp and croakers.
