![]() Do you have a favorite wader or should I say a different set from your duck hunting ones? Waded fished a little back when it first started and want to get back into it. Know one issue is knowing where to bail out at. Sunk up to my azz in a couple spots. Any other info you would like to help out with would be appreciated. |

personally I use different waders for fishing and for hunting. Too prone to tear a hole in em hunting.
I use the walknwade products as my wade belt: www.walknwade.com As far as where to go, just gotta go explore it my man. Helps you know the lake better. |

magellan, hodgeman, simms for fishing, breathable waders. i use the 20 dollar stone creek neoprene boots from academy, they work great and are comfy.

Only time I would want breathables is in April or May. I use neoprenes. Then if I wade in the summer, its pants and wade boots.

Good advice but keep it coming, do y'all use a net. I had a good one wrap around a boga and break off. **** happens. I lost a nice flounder that I could have caught with a net. How many baits do you typically bring, how often do you change, Do you fish anything besides suspending baits? How deep do you wade, do you bring a stringer for smaller fish/reds/flounder? Do you shuffle your feet? Are you skeered of sting rays? How about bullsharks? I stumbled over an old crab pot and almost filled my waders. How far from the boat do you typically wade? Do you use power pro? I have experienced Mr. Little's heart ache of seeing a corky fly away with my florocarbon leader. Too many cooties in the water, I don't like wet wading. Do y'all hit the surf? I'm committed to learning the trade but I've got a ways to go. It doesn't help that I need to pee every 20 minutes. I want a Hobie kayak with the pedals. Too little time, too little money.

I hit the surf hard in the summer. Needs to warm up before the trout on the beach. Does get little freaky when u in the surf slammin the trout then next thing u know u reelin in a blackfin shark. I don't like stringers. Had some on stringer last year floatin behind my buddy. We pull em in to load up and the biggest trout of day prob bout 5 lbs. Is only half a trout. Now I don't think the sharks are as bad on the lake but I never tried to Wade fish the lake these other guys with more experience with that can help u. In surf I hit em hard on top till bout 9 then switch to a mirrorlure 4" soft shad on 1/4 oz jig.

Gottogo----slow down tiger! haha
-no net for me....use boga and hand (always gonna lose a fish or 2 no matter what you do) -bring many different baits -use whatever situation dictates....ie...if I see fish busting bait on top, I throw topwater -always shuffle your feet!!! |

huge sting rays in there right now, nearly the size of manta rays
they seem more aggressive in cold water, bull sharks too! |

not to mention the deadly bacteria and possibility of hypothermia
![]() all bs aside it's better to shuffle a little so that you dont try to step over debris, it'll hang you up and you'll stumble everytime. landing big fish = ego wade net or just play them down, leave lot of line out & put rod under arm, grab leader, then gently clamp the boga on bottom jawbone. i try not to even touch the fish, gently leave them in the water, unclip the boga and touch the tail with it and they take off. |
