Everyday on the way to and from school the children are driven by a number of chemical plants including Conoco, Georgia Gulf, and Sasol. The smell along this road is unbelievable. I was outside of the car for a few minutes taking pictures and by the time I got back in my eyes and lungs were burning. I can't believe children have to ride through this everyday.

When I see this community boxed in by industrial sprawl, I am struck. Struck with the realization that this is capitalism at its worst, when profit margins and corporate wealth outweigh the costs of the lives of residents and workers.

this is nothing but fluff and means nothing

EAN network is a bunch of liberal hippies. There is nothing going on at these plants that are outside of deq and EPA healthy standards. If there were they would be in big trouble.

All that they will succeed in doing is chasing away more businesses and American Jobs. In a country where little is manufactured anymore... I'm sure the Chineese or the Mexicans won't mind the smell at all... When are we going to wake up.

don't get me started...

these same children probably wouldn't have a pot to piss in if those plants weren't there...my whole family has worked in refineries and chemical plants in the area...they have supported me my whole life and still do now!!!!

They aren't pollution free no doubt I sell the gases for monitoring their emissions!!! But when are we going to stop chopping off our hands?
