Default First trip to BL

We making our first trip to big lake in the morning. I haven't fished salt water much only bass fish. Any help would be appreciated. We plan on docking at Herbert's and running to the weirs. My son is 5 and wants to catch a redfish. I've never been and not sure what to look for. Don't want to go out there and get in a bind.

With this wind and rain...even I would have to start in the blind....

Find some good water or fish up north by 210

x3 Especially if you've never been before. But if you do, I think its supposed to be a hard E wind tomorrow. Fish the cove between the group of camps around Hebert's and where the next group of camps start north of there. Launch at Hebert's and head north. First cove on your right. Start shallow and drift out. That way you don't have to make that long run in rough water to the weirs with a 5 y/o. Fish the bayous for reds and flounder.

Wind really doesn't look that bad for tomorrow though. I just looked. Probably wouldn't be a bad ride to the weirs if that's where you got your mind set on going.
